These days, we're all trying to shop a little more responsibly – for the environment and our wallets. That's why it's the perfect time to try a kids clothing swap. It's a fun, inexpensive and eco-friendly way to update your family's wardrobe.
Here at Green Works®, we're huge fans. In fact, we've created two different ways to reduce, renew and recycle your closets.
swap option 1—host your own
Free "new" kids clothes, a cleaner closet and a girls' night in. What could be better? And hosting a swap can be as easy or as elaborate as you'd like. A couple of mirrors, a few organized piles and some simple, satisfying refreshments are really all you need. You could also expand it to include the whole family, designating separate rooms for "Moms", "Teens", "Dads" and "Kids". (Natural tip: Advise guests to bring only freshly laundered clothes. Try washing them in new Green Works™ natural laundry detergent.)
For more detailed instructions on ground rules, recipes, finding local charities for leftovers and more, download our do-it-yourself kit below.
Here are a few tools to get you started:
swap option 2—attend a Green Works® clothing swap
And while we're new to the swap game, we're partnering with a real pro—Suzanne Agasi of Clothing Swap, Inc—to bring you 10 Clothing Swap events across the country. In 1994, she started hosting swaps out of her apartment and has since organized over 175 events, which have resulted in literally tons of clothing donations to needy charities.
You may bring as many items as you wish. We only ask that they're freshly laundered and in good, loan-to-a-friend condition.
Space is limited, so please be sure to check back to get all the details on how you can register.
